Library
The Institute's library (over 3400 volumes of domestic and foreign specialist literature) comprises Slovene collections of folk songs, foreign collections, domestic specialist literature, foreign specialist literature, manuals, and complementary and comparative specialist literature with an author and material catalogue. The books are divided into five sections according to the scheme devised by France Marolt. The sections are: Slovene collections (Bbl I), other nations collections (Bbl II), Slovene specialist literature (Lt I), foreign specialist literature (Lt II) and various auxiliary material (Comp.)
Since 1972, when the GNI was incorporated into the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Arts, the entry of books is managed by the SAZU library. The library is intended both for members of the Institute and other interested parties.
