Eighth Symposium of the ICTMD Study Group on Multipart Music

This four-day international symposium will bring together researchers of multipart music from different parts of the world. The presentations will address multipart musical practices from a variety of perspectives, ranging from the transmission of musical knowledge, pedagogy, safeguarding and revitalisation, and intangible cultural heritage to questions concerning understandings of authenticity, identity, borders and migration, as well as analytical approaches to multipart music.
The symposium begins on Wednesday, 19 August, at 13:30 with a welcome and opening remarks. On the same day, at 17:30, a workshop on three- and four-part singing led by Katarina Šetinc will take place in the ZRC Atrium. The programme comprises ten thematic sessions and accompanying events. On Friday and Saturday, the symposium will also be linked to the International Festival Nights in Old Ljubljana Town.
