Drežnica Carnival

The Drežnica Carnival, in which only unmarried boys take part, is among the better-known carnivals in Slovenia. Through a talk and a screening of short ethnographic films, we will get to know the perspective of Naško Križnar and Valter Colle, who have spent years capturing the rich tradition and symbolism of this festival on camera. Representatives of the boys' community from Drežnica, which still operates according to ancient principles and customs and keeps the carnival ritual alive today, will also add their perspective.
